Clean and Simple Butterflies

You know what’s awesomely un-awesome about living near to downtown?  The noisy drunken people and/or crazies that we can hear in the middle of the night.  Decidedly un-awesome.

Last night sounded like a bit of a yelling match to see who could be louder, and how many complaints could be racked up within an hour.  Ex: “can you hear me? CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???!!!”

There was recently a good hour or more with a cab parked below my window, with the music BLARING (poor driver?).  Every so often the girls inside would jump out and start dancing, letting the music pour out around her.  When the random question of “why are we even here?” was asked, I found myself wondering the same thing. Oh, crazy drunk girls…

A few months back we had a real special case.  Some guy screamed the same lovely phrase over and over at the top of his lungs while wandering around the neighbourhood to himself.  That one got some special police attention.

Being able to walk downtown in 10 minutes has its perks, but this angry pregnant woman has very little patience for the drunks and the crazies (or the crazy drunks).  Go on, take your party another block away, please.

Bright spot? I made a card!  This one will be good for my upcoming Stamp n’ Stack – Any Occasions – card class.  Clean, simple, easy, poppin’.

The sketch is from the current challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping.  Just my style!

Fingers crossed that tonight will be a quiet one!

About Shauna

I fell in love with the art of rubber stamping when I was 12 years old. I blame my grandparents. I already had every crafty hobby imaginable when they bought me a few stamps, an ink pad, and some embossing powder. I was hooked. From that point on, no special occasion has gone unmarked by one of my hand-crafted creations. Scrapbooking came next, and though it isn't my first love, it's a close second.

ha ha, I can relate (although I live in a very nice peaceful neighbourhood now!). I felt especially resentful and angry towards nighttime hooligans during pregnancy. I think it was a protective thing! I didn’t want to bring a child into a world with such negativity and disorderly craziness. (and p.s. nice card :D)

    Margaret,
Some of it is the protectiveness, but I think a lot of it for me is that I get so angry at being woken up. Sleep is precious to me.

How frustrating, not just to be woken up so often and for such stupidity on the part of others, but for some of the occurrences to go on SO LONG. There are enough reasons for sleep to be interrupted during pregnancy as it is with out all that nonsense!

Gotta tell ya though, that second photo of your card is SPECTACULAR! I love how the angle and lighting make the texture pop.

  4. It is the best time to make a few plans for the long run and it is time to be happy. I’ve read this submit and if I may just I want to counsel you some interesting issues or suggestions. Maybe you can write subsequent articles referring to this article. I want to read even more issues about it!
