Hi there,
Today’s sweet butterfly card is just what I needed to cling to what’s left of my summer. Back to school/work for me in just over a week!
I get all giddy and girly when I play with vintage book paper things, like these butterflies. I just adore them! I did the centres with some bright and cheerful brads, and added some shine to their trails with a glittery gel pen.
This card’s from the sketch below – over at Unscripted Sketches. Simple and pretty. Thanks, ladies!

Hiya!
Ummmm.. apologies for no cards in the last forever? Yes, I do think I’ve fallen off that wagon a bit. I’m trying to scramble back on; have no fear!
Today’s card is a mostly digital one that I made for the latest sketch challenge over at Everything But the Kitchen Sink. Like usual, I had just acquired these papers and needed to put them to use!
I just adore the colours, and those birdies – oh my!
Materials:
Stamps – ‘Hugs’ – Hero Arts
Inks – Memories (Momento) – Artprint Brown, Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Paper – All from Digital House Design Studio – April Papers by Jen Allyson
Accessories- Buttons – Basic Gray, hemp string, Border punch – Martha Stewart
And the sketch (I rotated and flipped it a bit.. artistic license?)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Hey there, it’s taken me a while to make a card.. I’ve been staring at a whoooole bunch of challenges that I would have liked to have participated in this week, but just didn’t get to. Woah, my French teacher brain is looking at the tenses there and going crazy!

So I chose one challenge that called my name the loudest. It was from this week’s Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World.
I was happy to be able to use my eyelet flowers that I had made.. When I saw the trigger photo, I immediately thought of these little guys. Also, I love using white embossing powder because of the way it just pops off the page. It works perfectly for that bright white egg background look!

Note that the inspiration below was sent in by Alicia Thelin.

While I’m on the pink theme, have a look at what I’ve created. This is one of my all-time favourite Valentines cards that I’ve made. I blogged about it when I first created this here site, but I think it’s worth bringing up again.
I’m very drawn to the colours and how they harmonize together, as well as the way the swirls work with the shapes of the different hearts.. and best of all? It was simple to make!
I just layered some paper, choosing a pretty piece of scrapbook paper for the colourful swirly background. Next, I cut out those two blue hearts. I used a paper punch for the small one, and a template I had for the other. The largest heart I drew freehand, which took some modifications and trimming, but turned out great. I edged them all with an ink cube, then added the round paper clip (which I got from Staples) and attached them with double sided tape and pop dots. ‘Dream time’ is from a little set I got with baby type sayings. Very cute.

To follow with the whole resurrection theme.. I found a matching Valentines card. Well, the colours and style match. This one’s a cute, happy little seahorse. I think I gave this one to my man last year.
I really like how whimsical the seahorse is. He (she?) looks like he’s wanting to float around and give kisses. I imagine the little hearts as bubbles of love (cheeeeesy!)
So this one’s coloured in with watercolour pencil crayons. The scalloped oval is from a big craft punch, as are the hearts. The rectangle piece I used a corner rounding punch on.

Valentine’s Day seems to be the next big thing all over the internets and in the stores. I’m not yet feeling it, so what do I do? Resurrect some creations from years gone by, of course!

I’m very fond of these sheep.. they’re like my little pets on paper. I just used some chalks to colour in, as well as some sponging with a little ink cube, and a touch of glitter. I think this could be a boy card.
